What is fear? Mostly, it is what is unknown to us. It is so obscure to us that the fact you can’t wrap your head around an outcome, is terrifying.

It’s not a boogie man out to get you. It is not your lack of ability to rise to the occasion nor lack of skills or anything that you could do wrong. It is lacking faith in yourself to not be able to live up to the situation. It’s lack of self confidence.

For the sake of argument, if you had utter belief in yourself and the self confidence that you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to, I believe that fear would diminish.

Believe. Believe that you can handle whatever is thrown at you. It’s like fate asking you if you are ready. It’s coming rather you want it to or not. It’s not the situation you face that is FEAR.

Let go of your doubts and let go of your insecurities. LET GO

Planning another trip to Heaven

B introduced me to a little slice of heaven in Larimer County. Long Draw

There is also about a half dozen dispersed sites. Go early. You won’t find one on the weekend.

Packing the gear and you can’t wipe the smile off my face. I will be out of range and disconnected for five days.

Water. Moose, Wildflowers. Old raggedy stumps. Camping. My happy place.

Journeys: Traveling my new Era

Things change. We sometimes encounter a completely different direction for our lives.

Growth and change are good otherwise; we take on being stale and uninspired. Time to embrace this era of me. At 58 rotations around the sun, I am not sure how many era’s I am going to be allowed. Time to embrace my experience and act like a creative adult.

I have been up to more grown-up things than in the past. I can now check the block of being exhibited in a museum. There is more to life than social media and getting dopamine hits from “likes”. Validation comes from myself. Enjoyment can be had from person to person contact with other photographers. My work has changed. I also have changed. Maybe it’s because of my age. The presence of watching others as they enjoy my work cannot be found sitting behind my phone or computer screen. It is in seeing the gratification on the faces when they view what they are seeing.

This is my new era. Connection. I want more of this.
